IVORY TREE GAME LODGE

Location:- Ivory Tree Game Lodge is situated in the north Eastern region of the Pilanesberg National Park, the closest point of entry is through Bakgatla Gate.
Nestled in the basin of an ancient amphitheatre divided by riverine woodlands and elephant trails lies an exclusive lodge development site. The central facility includes a stunning feature pool, bar, conference room, dinning room, boma, reception and curio shop.

Accommodation:- 60 double suites are located on the edges of the amphitheater basin, each features full en suite bathroom, mini bar fridges, air-conditioning, tea and coffee making facilities. It is also possible to introduce a third bed into the room in the event that a child / children wish to share with parents. It is not possible to add a fourth bed.

Conference Centre:- Ivory Tree has included a dedicated conference room among its facilities. This specific plan indicates a class room type layout and makes provision for 70 delegates.

Activities:- Most of our guests are at Ivory Tree for the thrill of the open vehicle safari. Ivory Tree uses custom built 10 seater open game viewers which permit maximum all around visibility. The park is home to a wide variety of general game including the Big 5, in addition both species of rhino occur, namely black and white, and cheetah and wild dog. Each group of guests is assigned a personal guide who is tasked with interpreting the sights and sounds of the African bush. Your guide will spend time with you at dinners aswell and is always around to ensure that you remain comfortable during your stay with us. There are also a numerous activities which occur in and around the Pilanesberg National Park, which include hot air ballooning, elephant back rides and golf at the nearby Sun City complex.

Conservation Safaris:- The concept of involving guests in conservation exercises has traditionally been beyond the reach of guests in national parks. At Ivory Tree Game Lodge guests can partake in game capture activities, which nclude branding, placing or removing collars, inserting micro chips etc.

Special interest Safaris:- Bird drive: Enjoy a drive in Pilanesberg with a highly trained and specialist guide devoting all of your time to the feathered inhabitants of the Bush. Pilanesberg boasts a bird count in excess of 280 species. Botany drive including medicinal uses of indigenous plants. Astronomy and mythology drives: The beauty of stars in the African Bush is rivaled only by their number and clarity. Wildlife management in a modern African National Park. Frog identification (in summer only).

Spa:- The Ivory Tree Lodge Spa offers a variety of body, skin and beauty treatments to ease the effects of life’s daily stresses. Our qualified therapists will help you to unwind and relax your mind and body in the majestic surroundings of the Pilanseberg National Park

Wildlife:- Lion, elephant, black and white rhino, buffalo, leopard - Big Five- also cheetah and wild dog - Magnificent seven.
Giraffe, zebra, warthog, baboon, monkey, hippo, crocodile, and a variety of antelope including kudu, impala, waterbuck, Springbok, Wildebeest, Eland, Blesbok, Tsessebe and Steenbok are regularly seen, along with a number of the more elusive or less common animals. With a bird population of over 250 different species. Bring your binoculars!

Access:- Johannesburg is only 175km, Pretoria 135km, Sun City 10km and Pilanesberg National Park is 15km away. Bakubung Bush Lodge is accessable by road.

Communication:- Ivory Tree Game Lodge has full communication facilities that include telephone, fax, photocopying, internet and e-mail.

Power supply:- There is 24 hour electricity to all rooms.

Shop:- There is a well stocked curio shop in the main lodge.
